Visual identity design and refresh
We design your logo, select colours and typefaces, and show you how to use them together. If you already have a visual identity, we first review what still fits and what needs updating.
Discuss your plansYou can commission a visual identity on its own or as part of a website project.
A visual identity you can use
You receive the agreed designs and files, with instructions for using them. We show the identity in the applications that matter to you, such as your website and a business card.
Existing elements can stay when they remain recognisable and useful. A refresh does not always require a new logo.
A design direction to review
We turn your work, audience and desired character into a visual direction, showing how the design choices work together.
Logo, colours and typefaces
We create or refine your logo and develop the agreed versions. Colours and typefaces are chosen to work with the design.
Files for your applications
You receive logo files for the agreed applications, with guidance on which file to use where.
A concise style guide
The guide explains how to use the logo, colours and typefaces. The agreed examples help you apply the identity yourself or brief a supplier.
How we develop your visual identity
We start with your brand and test the direction in the applications you need.
Reviewing your brand and material
You tell us about your work, audience and what you want to keep. We agree on the logo versions and applications you need.
Choosing a direction
You see how colour, type and form represent your brand together. We review your feedback against the agreed principles.
Reviewing the design in use
We show the chosen direction in the agreed applications, including at small sizes or against a different background. We then finalise the files, style guide and any licences.
The identity in use
An identity comes to life in use. These two websites show how colour, typography and imagery sustain a consistent tone.

Alatapps
The copper brand image stands out against dark green. Large, clear type keeps the message and contact action visible beside it.

Preemie Companion
Warm colours, rounded type and the star give the explanation a human tone. The app image shows exactly what the copy describes.
See the design decisionWhat you can tell us about your brand
- Your story and information about the people you work for.
- Existing logo files and examples of where you use the identity.
- Consolidated feedback from the people making design decisions.
What is included in the design project?
We agree the logo versions, applications and feedback rounds in advance. Naming, extensive brand research, trademark registration and additional materials are included only when specified in the project.
We identify any typefaces or other elements that require a licence and discuss their costs and usage terms before you commit.
Using your identity after handover
After full payment, you receive the agreed files and style guide. The guidance helps you create your own materials and brief others to use the same identity.
A standalone identity project does not include website development or SEO implementation. If you want the identity applied to your website, we scope that work separately or combine the two projects.
Questions about your visual identity
Does my existing logo need to be replaced?
Not necessarily. Clearer colour rules, typography or a small refinement may be enough to bring things together. We first assess what is still useful.
Can you apply the identity to my website?
Yes, as part of a new website or a focused improvement project. We review the existing website and agree the work separately.
Where will you use your identity?
Tell us what you do and which materials you need. If you have a logo or website, send it along so we can review what can be kept.
